Hello! I’m Amélie Decomble, also known as Amélimón, founder of the creative studio Amélimón in Barcelona. I am a visual artist, illustrator, and 2D animator specializing in handmade frame-by-frame 2D animation and custom video mapping in Barcelona. My studio creates projection mapping projects for events, festivals, cultural projects, and live performances, transforming buildings, objects, and interiors into immersive visual experiences in Barcelona, Spain or internationally.

Using a combination of illustration and handcrafted animation, I bring unique, vibrant, and emotionally engaging visuals to life. Every projection is tailored to the architecture, the space, and the audience, ensuring that each video mapping project is a one-of-a-kind experience that leaves a lasting impression.

What is video mapping?
Video mapping, also called projection mapping, is a technique that projects animated visuals onto real surfaces such as buildings, objects, or stage environments. Instead of using a flat screen, the animation adapts to the shape and geometry of the surface, creating an illusion of depth, movement, and immersive storytelling. This technique allows any surface to become a living canvas, turning ordinary spaces into dynamic, custom video mapping experiences.

I really enjoy having a lot of creative freedom in my video mapping projects. Often, clients give me just a theme and a space to project on, and from there I can imagine an entire universe. My process combines hand-drawn 2D animation, motion design, and custom video mapping, creating projections that transform buildings, objects, and stages into immersive, memorable experiences.

I like to keep my clients informed throughout the creative process. I share progress, sketches, or previews, and I welcome their feedback if they want to guide the project. This collaboration allows me to refine the visuals, adapt them to the event and space, and make the final projection even more engaging.

For Who?
I work with a wide variety of clients and events, including major projects such as the Cumbre Internacional de Gastronomía de Salamanca and the Carnival of Cádiz. My studio is based in Barcelona, but I also work locally on the Costa Brava, across Catalonia, throughout Spain, and internationally.

I collaborate with festivals, event agencies, and video mapping production companies who are looking for a freelance artist to create unique, handcrafted visuals.
