WHO AM I?

VIDEO MAPPING, 2D ANIMATION & ILLUSTRATION ARTIST

Amélimón is a visual art and illustration studio based in Barcelona, founded by Amélie Decomble, a freelance visual artist and illustrator.

Originally from Avignon, France, Amélie studied between Lyon and Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, specializing in visual communication and digital creation. During her studies, she developed a passion for hand-drawn animation and gradually self-taught frame-by-frame 2D animation, creating a vibrant, handcrafted style that stands out for its authenticity.

After working as a graphic designer in agencies in Paris and Barcelona, Amélie decided to focus entirely on creative illustration, video mapping, and custom visual projects. She creates unique works for festivals, musicians, event agencies, and private clients across Catalonia, the Costa Brava, Spain, and internationally.

Her work combines illustration, 2D animation, and video mapping to deliver immersive, tailor-made visual experiences, where movement, color, and light come together to create engaging and emotionally resonant visuals.

PROCESS

2D ANIMATION & VIDEO MAPPING PROCESS

I really enjoy having creative freedom, when you give me a subject and a surface to project on, I can imagine a whole world around it. From there, ideas start to grow naturally.

My process always begins with a few sketches. I draw, test compositions, and build a kind of small storyboard to organize the flow of images. This step helps me visualize movement and rhythm before I move on to the final animation. I like to keep the drawing phase very intuitive, it’s where I find the right tone for the project.

Once the sketches are ready, I move to the digital part, where I bring everything to life frame by frame. I mostly work with 2D frame-by-frame animation, which keeps a handmade, imperfect, and vibrant feeling. That human touch is something I want to preserve in all my work, even when using digital tools or projection mapping.

I stay very open to feedback throughout the process. I like to share progress with clients, get their reactions, and make adjustments together. Each project is a collaboration, and I believe the best results come from honest exchanges and shared enthusiasm.
